Criminal case of three gangs renovating a well-known brand of mobile phones in Fenggang Town, Dongguan City

Investigation process:
In the summer of 2015, our investigator visited the Shenzhen Feiyang Used Machine Market and found that a middle-aged man had purchased a large number of old machines and accessories from a certain brand in the market. After in-depth investigation, it was finally discovered that there is a hideout located in Fenggang Town, Dongguan City that specializes in refurbishing a well-known brand of mobile phones. As the investigation deepened, investigators discovered that there were two other gangs engaged in refurbishing the brand of mobile phones in Fenggang Town. The three gang leaders are all fellow villagers who have business dealings with each other and have established a strong production and sales network through cooperation.
On September 9, 2015, our company coordinated with the Fenggang Police Station of Dongguan Fenggang Branch to carry out criminal investigations on three target groups simultaneously. More than 800 refurbished mobile phones were seized on site, and after in-depth investigation, three gangs sold over 34000 refurbished phones as of the day of the incident, with a total amount involved of over 40 million yuan. In November of the same year, the Fenggang Branch reported this case to the Public Security Department and launched a cluster campaign. Subsequently, multiple counterfeit sellers in other provinces and cities were investigated and dealt with.
Investigation results:
Seize more than 800 refurbished mobile phones and over 5000 various accessories of the brand;
The four main responsible persons were criminally detained on the day of investigation and were all arrested the following month.
Judgment result:
One party was sentenced to six years in prison and fined 15 million RMB; The other three parties were sentenced to three years and six months, one year and three months, and two years in prison, and were fined 700000, 500000, and 30000 RMB respectively.
