At around 22:00 on May 13, 2020, a joint task force consisting of the Anti Counterfeiting Work Team in Baiyun District, Guangzhou and the Food, Drug, and Environmental Investigation Brigade of the District Public Security Bureau discovered a major case suspected of selling counterfeit well-known brand cosmetics in a residential area on Sanyuanli Street.
The scene of the case was two rental houses in the same community, which were used by the gang involved in the case to operate and store fake perfume. A total of 4492 pieces of perfume were suspected of counterfeiting "CHANEL", "YSL" and other well-known brands. The preliminary estimate is that the value of the goods is about 2 million yuan. At the same time, two suspects involved in the case were arrested, and the joint task force dispatched the Tongde Police Station for criminal investigation. The local streets simultaneously carried out the disposal of counterfeit places.

This case is the first counterfeit case involving a special team since the Baiyun District Committee and Government explicitly requested to accelerate the resumption of work and production in the entire district's anti counterfeiting work on May 9th.
Based on previous business clues, the task force dismantled all three warehouses on the 5th and 6th floors of the gang's leather goods city in one fell swoop. A total of 1966 suspected counterfeit "GUCCI" brand leather goods, totaling 13 models, were seized with a preliminary estimated value of about 4 million yuan. The case is significant and has reached the standard of criminal investigation.
