Criminal case of counterfeiting a certain brand of mobile phones in a large-scale mobile phone production center in Shenzhen

Investigation process:
At the end of 2009, our company conducted routine investigations and visits to electronic factories suspected of producing and selling counterfeit phones, and found that a certain electronic factory in Shenzhen was producing counterfeit phones of a certain brand. After arranging for an informant to enter the factory to work, we investigated the production and shipment patterns of counterfeit products within the factory.
On January 19, 2010, after obtaining authorization from the rights holder, our company coordinated with the Economic Investigation Brigade of the Longgang Branch of the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau and the Longgang Branch of the Shenzhen Market Supervision Administration to carry out a criminal investigation on the factory.
Investigation results:
A total of 810 counterfeit phones from a well-known brand and a large number of phone accessories were confiscated;
Two parties were criminally detained on the day of investigation and punishment; Arrested the following month.
Judgment result:
The two defendants were sentenced to three years and five months in prison and two years with a two-year probation, each with a fine of RMB 810000.
